If you are familiar with the American F-series trucks (pick-ups) as it’s called in the USA you would also be familiar with the FX4 badge.
The 3.2-litre XLT Double Cab 4×4 has been available with an FX4 badge for a while now which basically adds a few goodies.
The package includes: Exterior black finishes for the side-mirrors, roof rails, tailgate handles, fog-light trims and radiator grill, the 17” alloy’s gets te same treatment as well as the sidesteps and a few other areas.
On the inside nothing really changed except for the the latest-generation SYNC3 with satnav accessible via a 8″ touchscreen.
The FX4 is also only available in 4 color choices: Grey, Black, Silver and White.
There are no 4X2’s available in the lineup, only 4X4’s running the 3.2 motor linked to either a 6-speed manual or Auto box.
Ford Ranger Fx4 3.2 TDCi Double Cab 6MT 4×4 – R593 900
Ford Ranger Fx4 3.2 TDCi Double Cab 6AT 4×4 – R608 900
All models are sold with Ford Protect, including a four-year/120 000km comprehensive warranty, five-year/100 000km service plan, three-year/unlimited km roadside assistance and five-year/unlimited km corrosion warranty.
Service intervals are 20 000km, with free 4×4 training provided with the purchase of any Ranger 4×4 model.
I really like the sinister look of this package, especially when you opt for the grey paint option. It is a cool alternative to the Wild-Track package which Ford Ranger fans already love.
Now Ford just needs to bring out the factory fitted Raptor-kit as well.
