First Impression of the new Suzuki Jimny

For many years the Suzuki Jimny remained mostly unchanged. In fact, from the 3rd generation launched in 1998, almost nothing changed at all, until now.

New images of the Suzuki Jimny is released, and if looks are anything to go by, the new one sure looks to be a treat.

Nothing is mentioned about the engine, but it is widely accepted that it will be powered by the same 1.l turbo boosterjet or the 1.2l from the Swift. It does look as if the will be a manual and automatic option available.

The chassis still remains a ladder frame setup, with a 3-link rigid axle suspension setup. It is said that the new Suzuki Jimny will have a low-range and a part-time 4-wheel-drive system as well.

The Interior is were things change drastically. Modern age necessities complement the cabin now, including a touch screen navigation system. The buttons still remain large and easy to press, just like the one we know and love.

The Suzuki Jimny is still a couple of months away from launch, and I really hope it won’t disappoint!

I am an old fashioned 30 year balding, ham fisted egghead, with a love for mechanical engineering, Victorian era architecture. There was always something about cars, and up to this day I cannot put my finger on it, the easiest way to explain it would be to like it to something you just understand, you get it, you don’t know why or how, but it’s something you've understood all your life. With Torquesteer I have created a couple of Goals. One is to tour the little market town of Todmorden, England in a MG B roadster, and the Second is to do the US route 66 in true american muscle style. Driving a Tesla is also on the list.
