All new Volvo S60 due in South Africa

Early 2019 we will be graced by the arrival of the new Volvo S60, and this in particular, will be one very special Volvo.

The reasoning is simple. It is the first Volvo that will not have a diesel option, showing Volvo’s dedication toward the future of electric vehicles, and it’s also the very first Volvo to be produced entirely in Charleston,South Carolina, USA. A move in which Volvo will try to force new growth opportunities, as well as break into the US and Chinese markets.

Available options in South Africa, as far as rumors go, Volvo will offer the standard T4 and T5 options, as well as the super-and-turbo charges T6. The big brother, the twin engine T8 is being considered, and there will be the “Polestar S60” for those who likes going quick.

As for the rest, details are still very hush, but we can expect it to be a thorough Volvo, especially when it comes to safety.

I am an old fashioned 30 year balding, ham fisted egghead, with a love for mechanical engineering, Victorian era architecture. There was always something about cars, and up to this day I cannot put my finger on it, the easiest way to explain it would be to like it to something you just understand, you get it, you don’t know why or how, but it’s something you've understood all your life. With Torquesteer I have created a couple of Goals. One is to tour the little market town of Todmorden, England in a MG B roadster, and the Second is to do the US route 66 in true american muscle style. Driving a Tesla is also on the list.
